Step by step instructions for sanitizing and cleaning a top loader, front loader along with cleaning the outside and detergent reservoirs of washing machines below:

Cleaning A Top-Loader Washer:

Step 1: Prepare Washing Machine by removing any visible contaminants off the exterior and interior of lid of washer using PurTru™ Solution.

Step 2: Add Sanitizing & Cleaning Solution by pouring one quarter (4 ounces), or one-use using indicator lines, bottle of PurTru™ Solution only, without any other detergent, into the laundry detergent reservoirs of the washer.

Step 3: Run Pre-Wash Cycle Sanitizing & Cleaning Solution. Run the pre-wash and soak cycle with PurTru™ Solution only, without any clothing or, depending on the machine, follow the manufacturer cleaning instructions.

Step 4: Run Hot Water Wash Cycle. Run large hot water wash cycle or machine cleaning setting depending on type and make of machine.

Step 5: Run Final Hot Water Wash Cycle.  Run large hot water wash cycle without cleaning solution.

Step 6: Wipe the inside of the washer basin with a clean cloth.

Cleaning A Front-Loader Washer:

Step 1: Prepare Washing Machine by removing any visible contaminants off the exterior and interior of front door of washer using PurTru™ Solution.  Also clean around and inside the rubber gasket at the front of the washer.

Step 2: Add Sanitizing & Cleaning Solution by pouring one quarter (4 ounces), or one-use using indicator lines, bottle of PurTru™ Solution only, without any other detergent, into the laundry detergent reservoirs of the washer.

Step 3: Run Pre-Wash Cycle Sanitizing & Cleaning Solution. Run the pre-wash and soak cycle with the PurTru™ Solution only, without any clothing or, depending on the machine, follow the manufacturer cleaning instructions.

Step 4: Run Hot Water Wash Cycle. Run large hot water wash cycle or machine cleaning setting depending on type and make of machine.

Step 5: Run Final Hot Water Wash Cycle.  Run large hot water wash cycle without cleaning solution.

Step 6: Wipe the inside of the washer drum with a clean cloth.

General instructions are to follow manufacturer cleaning instructions for the washing machine. Add ¼ or 4 ounces of PurTru™ Sanitizing & Cleaning Solution and set to large load hot water wash cycle.

Cleaning The Outside And Detergent Reservoirs Of Washer:

Clean outside of washer by making a mixture of 2 parts water to 1 part PurTru™ Solution.  Using a cloth wipe down the top and sides of the washer, the knobs and front of washer control panel, the washer doors and front side of machine.

Clean washer detergent reservoirs by removing detergent reservoir drawer from washer if applicable and clean and rinse drawer using PurTru™ Solution.  Dry off and replace the washer detergent reservoir drawer.
