For best results use PurTru® PRO Ice Machine Cleaning & Descaling Solution weekly or as needed to clean and sanitize ice machine for better tasting ice and optimal performance.
STEP 1: Empty the ice machine bin of any ice. Proceed to remove any visible contaminants from both the exterior and interior of the ice machine using PurTru® PRO Ice Machine Cleaner and Descaler.
STEP 2: Pour one bottle or 16 fl. oz. of PurTru® PRO Ice Machine Cleaner and Descaler into the reservoir.
STEP 3: Activate clean cycle by pressing the clean/wash button or toggle switch, depending on make and model of the ice machine.
STEP 4: Run the cleaning cycle, which typically lasts between 20 to 45 minutes. Upon completion disconnect the power to the ice machine.
STEP 5: Prepare a solution of PurTru® PRO Cleaner and warm water by combining 1 gallon of water with 16 fl. oz. of cleaner, following the standard mixing ratio.
STEP 6: Remove the parts from the ice machine and submerge them into the cleaning mixture. Reference ice machine’s service manual to find their exact locations.
STEP 7: Use an additional bottle of PurTru® PRO Solution to clean all areas surrounding the removed parts, as well as the top, bottom, and sides of both the evaporator and ice bin.
STEP 8: Thoroughly rinse all parts with warm water, ensuring they are free from any cleaning solution, and then thoroughly dry them before reinstalling.
